What is the difference between sus304cs and sus304csp?

Answer Tokai Spring

Dear Spring Newbie,

The difference between “CS” and “CSP” of SUS304 is as follows!
SUS304 CS = Cold rolled stainless steel strip (JIS G 4305)
SUS304-CSP = Stainless steel strip for spring (JIS G 4313)
The main difference here is the mechanical properties (proof stress and tensile strength). Comparing to CS, CSP is a material which is hardened by cold rolling and the hardness of CSP is “H”. It also has a higher strength than CS. Therefore, it is often used for springs.

It is possible to increase the strength of CS by refining it through cold rolling, but according to the standards, by refining, the strength of the material is not controlled.

*SUS304(EQ to S30400 by ASTM, X5CrNi1810 by DIN, L-No6X5CrNi18-9 by ISO )
