Dear Nagram,
Thank you for your question!
Please find our answer below for your reference:
SWRS62A and SWRH62A differ in their composition.
SWRS62A contains more carbon (C) than SWRH62A and imposes stricter limits on harmful elements like phosphorus (P) and sulfur (S). Additionally, the decarburization depth, diameter tolerances, and ovality are more tightly controlled in SWRS62A, indicating a higher-quality material.
These two materials are among the base materials used for piano wire (SWRS62A) and hard steel wire (SWRH62A), but other base materials may also be used.
For more details, please refer to JIS G3502 (Piano Wire Rods) and JIS G3506 (Hard Steel Wire Rods).
Regarding the differences between piano wire and hard steel wire, the specified tensile strengths vary.
The minimum tensile strength standards for each wire diameter are higher for piano wire, indicating it is a stronger material.
Additionally, surface defect management is stricter for piano wire, which also results in higher costs.
For further details, please refer to JIS G3522 (Piano Wire) and JIS G3521 (Hard Steel Wire).
