Question Aaron

Hi, I have a spring manufactured from JIS SWP-B with a rectangular section of 1.8mm x 1.2mm.
What is the tensile strength we can expect from this spring? I am trying to evaluate a hardness range to ensure state on the mechanical drawing for quality checking.

Answer Tokai Spring

Dear Aaron,

Thank you for contacting us!

With a rectangular section of 1.8mm x 1.2mm, the diagonal length is about 2.16mm and this is close to the diagonal length of 2.3mm stated in JIS G3522.
The tensile strength in this case is 1960 to 2160MPa (N/mm^2).

If you have any other questions, please let us know anytime!

Best regards,
