Question Michael Muskett 2021/11/10(Wed) 15:13
Good day, My customer is requesting springs out of SUS304WPB wire which I am unable to source in my country, I have access to AISI 302, What would be an alternative to SUS304WPB
Answer Tokai Spring 2021/11/10(Wed) 17:58
Dear Michael,
Thank you very much for your question!
Material that is similar to SUS304-WPB (JIS G4314) can be ISO 6931-1 Stainless steel for springs.
In other standards, AISI304, EN1.4301, DIN X5CrNi18-10 are applicable, but if you do not purchase the material by specifying it as a material for springs to suppliers, maybe the material provided will not have the hardness as a spring material.
Therefore, if you ask the spring manufacturer to provide material for springs, we think it should be fine.
Best regards,
*SUS304(EQ to S30400 by ASTM, X5CrNi1810 by DIN, L-No6X5CrNi18-9 by ISO )
