Question HY 2009/4/10(Fri) 15:48
I would like to ask you about the calculation formula for the natural frequency (f) of the compression spring. Generally, f=1/(2π)×√(k/m), but JIS B 2704, the formula is f=i/2×√(k/m) and this does not contain π. Why are there two formulas? Which formula is correct? Thank you in advance!
Answer Tokai Spring 2009/4/13(Mon) 16:22
Thank you for your inquiry, HY!
Regarding the calculation formula of natural frequency (f), the general formula f=1/(2π)×√(k/m) calculates the frequency f of the vibration system consisting of an object with mass m and a spring with spring constant k.
For f=i/2×√(k/m) described in JIS, it is a calculation formula for calculating the natural frequency f of the spring, and m represents the mass of the spring.
Therefore, it seems that the two formulas have different properties (^.^)!
