Question みの 2009/5/27(Wed) 10:11
How different are the longitudinal elastic moduli of SUS304 and SUS304-CSP? When I roughly examined it, different numbers such as 193×10^3 and 186×10^3 were found as SUS304. Or isn’t the elasticity seen from the longitudinal elastic modulus? I would like to use a stainless steel leaf spring, but I am having trouble because I do not know how to select the material. Please help.

Thank you for your inquiry, Mino!
Unfortunately, we do not have the data on the longitudinal elastic modulus of SUS304, but it has the same chemical composition as SUS304-CSP, and we presume it to be about the same (186×10^3N/mm2).
For stainless steel leaf springs, using SUS304-CSP, which is a stainless steel strip for springs, is better.
Thanks again for your inquiry!

I’m currently trying to analyze the strength of leaf springs. Could you tell me the Poisson’s ratio and yield stress of SUS304CSP?

Thank you for your inquiry, Moz! !
Please refer to the following for the Poisson’s ratio and yield stress of SUS304CSP.
○ Yield stress
・SUS304-CSP H: 880N/mm2 or more
・SUS304-CSP 3/4H: 665N/mm2 or more
・SUS304-CSP 1/2 H: 470N/mm2 or more.
(The marketable material is SUS304-CSP H.)
○ Poisson’s ratio
SUS304-CSP H, SUS304-CSP 3/4H, SUS304-CSP 1/2 H: 0.3.
