Question Clide

I’m thinking about designing an extensometer.
Could you tell me the material with the largest elastic strain in your material stocks? Also, please tell me among carbon steels, stainless steels, and copper alloys, which one has the largest elastic strain.

Answer Tokai Spring

Among the stock materials at our company, SWOSC-M (silicon chrome steel) or SWP-A, B (piano wire) can be mentioned as the material with the largest elastic strain.
In addition, copper alloy has a small elastic strain, and carbon steel and stainless steel’s elastic strain are slightly larger than carbon steel. Therefore, the order is (1) carbon steel, (2) stainless steel, and (3) copper alloy.
