Question T.K 2019/3/28(Thu) 8:36
I have a question for you.
I want to make a flat spring (t = 0.1, about 30 x 50 mm) from an old drawing, but I am in trouble. The material is not available because it is an old material called SUP1. What kind of material is suitable as an alternative now? The load and movement of the spring are small since it is used as a vibrating part. Thank you in advance for your reply.

Thank you for posting, Mr. T.K!
SUP1 is currently unavailable, so if it is a thin plate, the material SK85 is widely distributed and is easy to use.
For your reference, the differences in component values are as follows.
SUP1 C: 0.45 to 0.6%, Si: 0.15 to 0.35%, Mn: 0.3 to 0.6%, P: <0.035%, S: <0.035, Ni: <0.5% Cu: 0.3%
SK85 C: 0.80 to 0.90%, Si: 0.10-0.35%, Mn: 0.1-0.5%, P: <0.030%, S: <0.030
