Question Yoichi Fujii 2006/10/31(Tue) 14:46
I would like to ask you a question. Please tell me Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and proof stress of spring steel (SUP10). In addition to the above characteristics, I want to know about the differences in the characteristics of spring steel and SS materials.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Yoichi Fujii, thank you for writing to us!
Young’s modulus, Poisson’s ratio, and proof stress of SUP10 are as follows.
[Young’s modulus] 206000N/mm^2
[Poisson’s ratio] 0.3
[Yield strength] 1080N/mm^2 or more
Compared to the characteristics of SS materials, the strength of chemical components and materials are significantly different. Spring steel contains component elements that improve hardenability. In terms of strength, spring steel is significantly stronger!
