Question Zawa

We designed springs of the same shape that was annealed at low temperature with SUS304 CSP-3/4H and SUS631 CSP-3/4H. I checked the load with the same displacement, but the result is slightly smaller for SUS631. SUS631 is a harder material and the calculation result at design time indicated that the value should be slightly larger than SUS304, but the actual result is opposite. I did some research myself, but I don’t understand the reason for the above phenomenon. Would you please let me know your opinions on this?

Answer Tokai Spring

I’m just guessing, but is there a difference within the range of each plate thickness tolerance? In addition, normally, SUS631CSP-3/4H material is not annealed at low temperature but is gone through the hardening process.
