Question Sato 2006/10/30(Mon) 12:33
I am designing a torsion coil spring with reference to JIS2709, but I have some questions.
When applying a load in the rewinding direction, JIS stated that unlike when applying a load in the winding direction, the spring bears tensile stress, not bending stress. I would like to find out the allowable stress of this tensile stress. If you have a diagram like the allowable bending stress diagram, would you please send it to me? Another question I would like to ask is that is there a big difference between the allowable load of a torsion coil spring used in the winding direction and in the rewinding direction?

Thank you for writing to us, Sato!
Please note that when a certain load is applied in the rewinding direction, the stress becomes twice as large as the spring constant in the winding direction. In addition, we will send you the materials related to the allowable stress directly at a later date, so we would appreciate it if you could refer to it!
We are happy to answer any inquiries regarding technology, specifications, materials, etc. Please feel free to ask.
