Question Spring Newbie 2018/7/18(Wed) 8:50
I have a question about the design calculation of the conical springs.
In the calculation examples, when compressed by 7.56 mm, the spring’s coils come into contact because -0.5>0. Could you confirm this? I thought the greater-than sign is not correct.
Also, could you please tell me the formula for calculating the solid height of the conical springs?

Spring Newbie, thank you for posting!
Thank you for pointing out the greater-than sign in the calculation example. It should be -0.5<0.
Regarding the solid height of the conical springs, I will demonstrate the contact-type as an example!
Solid height = Free height - Total deflection = 16 x Solid load x Number of active coils x ((Maximum mean diameter / 2) ^ 4- (Minimum mean diameter / 2) ^ 4 / Lateral elastic coefficient x Wire diameter ^ 4 x (Maximum mean diameter / 2-Minimum mean diameter / 2))
The calculation formulas for conical springs are complicated, so if you need a detailed calculation method, contact us and we will send you a separate document ♪ Thank you!!!
We are happy to answer any inquiries regarding technology, specifications, materials, etc. Please feel free to ask.
