Question Yong

I have a question for you.
SUS304-CSP is weakly magnetic and has a magnetic permeability of 1.1 to 1.2. Is it possible to demagnetize the material while maintaining the mechanical properties to be used for springs? If possible, please tell me how to do that. Thank you.

Answer Tokai Spring

Thank you for writing to us, Yong!
Unfortunately, it is difficult to demagnetize the material while maintaining the mechanical properties of SUS304-CSP. Heating is required to demagnetize, which changes the structure and significantly reduces the strength.

*SUS304(EQ to S30400 by ASTM, X5CrNi1810 by DIN, L-No6X5CrNi 18-9 by ISO )
