Question Spring Newbie 2019/1/7(Mon) 19:25
We are designing a flat spring with an Ω-shaped shape like in the attached file, with a thickness of 0.5 mm, and from material SUS301H-CSP. A continuous vertical vibration occurs 1200 times per minute from the top, and the maximum displacement is 2 mm, and we are planning to install a stopper so that it will not bend anymore. I would like to know the lifespan of the spring. Also, if I want to design so that the spring lasts forever, should the stress be reduced? Or is it better to reduce the amount of displacement?

Spring Newbie, thank you for posting! Please contact us from this link so that our Technical Department can propose you with a suitable design. Also, in the case of SUS301H material, it is difficult to estimate the durability due to the characteristics of the material. We make design proposals with an estimation of about 10 million times, but we cannot guarantee the design to have an infinite life.
In addition, when designing, reducing stress can be expected to improve durability. Therefore, by reducing the amount of displacement and stress, the design has a low probability of breakage.
