Question Spring Newbie

Could I ask you a question about the sag (permanent deformation) of compression coil springs?

Material: SUS304WPB
Wire diameter: Φ3.0-3.6
Outer diameter 14-18 Terminals
Closed ends
Grinding aspect ratio 3
Expected load 800N.

Due to grinding, if a spring like this has small seating surfaces, will it deform faster?

Answer Tokai Spring

Spring Newbie, thank you for your contribution! Depending on the size of the ground seating surfaces, the sag (permanent deformation) does not become faster. However, with the dimensions stated, if H / D (aspect ratio) of 3 is maintained while the wire diameter is Φ3.6, the maximum working load is about 700N.
If the H / D is set to about 4, the design will provide a repulsive force of 800N within an appropriate deflection range.

* SUS304(EQ to S30400 by ASTM, X5CrNi1810 by DIN, L-No6X5CrNi 18-9 by ISO )
