Question Spring Newbie

Springs for cars’ suspensions are springs with unequal pitches, but what are the characteristics and roles of the part with many windings and the part with fewer windings?

Answer Tokai Spring

Spring Newbie, thank you for your question!
Suspension springs are designed in various shapes, so unequal pitches alone cannot help to fully explain their characteristics. If they simply springs which have parts with a large number of turns and parts with a small number of turns, the part with a large number of turns should have a weak repulsive force and the part with a small number of turns should have a strong repulsive force. Thanks again for your question!
