Question Spring Newbie 2017/7/27(Thu) 18:46
In order to return an object to the center, 2 compression springs with the same specifications are used to press the object back to the original center position from both sides horizontally.
However, the object does not return to the original position completely.
How can I fix this problem?

Thank you for posting, Spring Newbie!
It is said that when a certain object is supported horizontally by compression springs from both sides, it will not return to the center, but the following can be assumed as reasons!
– Even if the compression springs have the same shape, the spring constants are slightly different, so the object will move to the one with the weaker spring constant.
– There is a difference in the force on both sides due to the friction of the horizontally supported structure. If the repulsive force to support is small and the operating resistance is small structurally, the impact of the repulsive force of the spring will be large.
If you provide us with more information regarding the shape of the springs, we can help manufacture springs with less difference in spring constants, so please feel free to contact us♪
We are happy to answer any inquiries regarding technology, specifications, materials, etc. Please feel free to ask.
