Question IMC 2006/8/25(Fri) 5:18
This is the first time I post a question here.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Regarding the corrosion resistance of alloy steel DIN 17222 Ck67 (equivalent to piano wire in JIS G3502), how is it compared to other steel materials such as SS400? Is it just a difference in hardness as steel materials are not affected by corrosion?
Sorry for such a beginner question!

Thank you for writing to us, ICM!
Since the piano wire springs are annealed at low temperature to form an oxide film on the surface, it is considered to be slightly better than SS400 etc., but anticorrosion treatment is required here.
