Question Kyo 2006/8/7(Mon) 9:12
Sorry for a sudden question, but is the number of times considered when the setting is performed?

Thank you for your question!
After the manufacturing process such as coiling and heat treatment is finished, the setting is performed by applying an overload in the same direction in which the spring is used for the purpose of further improving the permanent deformation resistance and fatigue resistance. Although this is just an operation to apply effective residual stress, we perform it 3 to 5 times. In terms of the number of times repeated, I think that it is better to do it twice rather than once, three times rather than twice, but if plastic deformation occurs to some extent, it is meaningless to set it further. Also, the setting doesn’t have any effect on a spring with a low generated stress below the elastic limit (^_^.).
