Problems and challenges

The customer was a farmer who was running a farm. Agricultural machinery plays a very important role in agriculture, where the timing of harvesting is crucial. The agricultural machine suddenly broke down, and when they investigated the cause, they found that a spring was broken. When the customer contacted the manufacturer, they were told that they would have to replace not only the spring but also all the surrounding parts, which would be costly and time-consuming.

Solution

After confirming that it would be possible to restore the system if only the spring was replaced, we asked the customer to send us a sample of the broken spring they were currently using, and we quickly took measurements, made drawings, and started manufacturing.

Results

We were able to manufacture and deliver the same spring in two weeks after the inquiry, and the customer’s agricultural machine was safely restored. In addition, the cost was much lower than if all the parts had been replaced, and the delivery time was very short, so the customer was able to minimize the loss caused by the machine downtime.
